Piper aff. argyrites is a fast growing terrarium plant with some of the most colorful leaves out there!  In high light you will get a lot of silver and white pattern on the leaves, but in moderate light, the full coloration will come out, with lots of rich pink splashed leaves.

In low light the leaves will be smaller and it will grow much slower…its seems to prefer moderate to bright light. Be aware, it is one of those plants that will slowly take over your tank, so be ready to get in there and keep it under control!

Typically the leaves start out around 3 inches long and a little less wide, and then as the plant becomes established in the terrarium and is getting the light it wants, leaves are around 4 inches long.  This plant tends to ramble, and older leaves typically become a little worn. My suggestion is to aggressively cut back older growth, promoting new growth of smaller leaves, which are more likely to have lots of nice pink on them!  Easy to grow, cuttings establish easily.
