The Capurgana form of D. auratus are a super attractive locality morph of the auratus species group.  They are found in the area around Capurgana, a small village on the Caribbean coast of Columbia, just south of the Panamanian border.

While not as bold as the two or three boldest auratus locales or morphs, they are really fairly outgoing, especially so once they settle in for a few months.  Their unique turquoise coloration is striking and the spots and unusual patterns on these set them apart from all the other auratus morphs. If you do much reading about them online, you’ll come across references to them as being yellow, but I have never seen any real evidence of this.  Their green coloration is a particular bright green, and perhaps an occasional frog might display a somewhat different shade of green verging on yellow, but they are definitely not typically yellow!

These breed about like most auratus, and enjoy mid to upper seventies, and high humidity.  One thing that is a little unusual about these frogs is how relatively slow they grow.  I’ve found that mine often take two years to reach adulthood.

This offering is for some half grown frogs, around 10 to 12 months old.
