Dendrobates Tinctorius “Brazilian Yellowhead”

$95.00

The Brazilian Yellowhead Cobalt morph of tinctorius have been in the hobby since I became interested in dart frogs, back in the mid-nineties.  They have always been kind of scarce, but in my opinion they are probably in the top three, in terms of appearance, when it comes to available tinctorius. These frogs are probably found in northern Brazil, in the Amapa district.  There seems to have been a relatively small founding population, in the nineties, and at some point in the past ten or so years, another group of wild frogs seem to have been brought into Europe.

This is a medium sized tinctorius, and is typical of other tinctorius in breeding and care.  I do find they lay smaller clutches, I’ve consistently gotten smaller clutches from this form than most other tincs.

Status- While these frogs are breeding for us regularly, clutch size is small and offspring grow slowly. I’m guessing that fall of 2026 is the earliest that we might offer these again.
