Ensure your dart frogs are well-fed with two portions of Hydei fruit flies, carefully packed into two 24oz cups. Hydei fruit flies are an excellent food source for dart frogs, offering a protein-rich and convenient feeding option. Each cup contains approximately 2,000 flies (no, we don’t count them—you’re welcome to let us know if you do!). A small amount of media is included at the bottom of each cup for sustenance during transit, along with wood shavings to keep the flies mobile. Each portion can feed about 10 dart frog tanks (approximately 20 frogs) or create 3–4 new cultures.

Why Choose Cup O’ Flies?
Shipping Hydei cultures when they’re near production can result in poor success rates due to disturbances during transit, often preventing emergence. To ensure the best results, we ship cups full of live flies rather than developing cultures. This method has proven to be the most reliable for successful feeding and culturing.

Availability of Hydei and Melanogaster Fruit Flies
We’ve recently increased our production of Hydei flies to make this product more consistently available. While our production of Melanogaster fruit flies (Turkish Gliders) is largely consumed by our own dart frogs, we are actively working to expand availability. If Melanogaster flies are out of stock, we can often substitute a single cup from your order with a cup of Melanogasters—just leave a note in the message box during checkout. If we cannot fulfill your request, we’ll provide a producing Melanogaster culture instead.

Important Notes on Hydei Fruit Flies
Hydei flies are slightly less predictable than Melanogaster when it comes to culture hatching times, so delays may occur. If you have any questions about your order or shipping timelines, please don’t hesitate to reach out. If we cannot fulfill your order for the usual Monday or Wednesday shipments, we’ll notify you and ship it as soon as possible.
