Other Dart Frogs
This group covers dart frog species from various genera that fall outside our main morph groups. These include Dendrobates leucomelas (the bumble bee poison frog), Epipedobates tricolor, and Adelphobates castaneoticus (the Brazil nut frog), among others.
Each species has its own personality and care requirements, but they share the general dart frog profile: small, colorful, diurnal, and thriving in humid planted vivariums. Like all captive-bred dart frogs, none of these carry the skin toxins found in wild populations — those toxins are derived from wild food sources and disappear in captivity.
Care difficulty ranges from beginner-friendly (leucomelas is one of the easiest dart frogs to keep) to more specialized. Check the individual species pages for detailed care information including temperature, humidity, group compatibility, and breeding notes.
