Our Fruit Fly Starter Kit is perfect to get you started culturing fruit flies!  This product comes with everything you need to get started with either Turkish Gliders, a prolific variety of flightless melanogaster, or hydei, a more complicated to culture fly that is probably better used as an supplementary food source, in particular since they are too large for smaller dart frogs.

Our kit provides supplies for either 10 or 20 cultures, and includes our sturdy Fabri-Kal cups, our exclusive ventilated lids, suitable for multiple uses, excelsior and of course our high output Fruit Fly Media.   Each kit also comes with two cultures, one producing on arrival and one set to begin producing a few days after arrival.  Or, if you have chosen hydei, you’ll get a cup of collected hydei with enough flies to make two cultures, and a hydei culture about a week from producing.
